SRI LANKA
Many households in the Batticaloa district of Sri Lanka fall below the line of extreme poverty, particularly female-headed households. This project aimed to help break the cycle of poverty, by providing 77 female-headed households with the resources and cash grants needed to achieve a sustainable income to meet their basic needs. Business plans were created, tailoring and food machinery provided, and training conducted. Furthermore, awareness campaigns were run for child protection and gender-based violence.
